Idol Hits The Theater!

So the remaining kids get to choose Best Songs of the Cinema with the help of the guest mentor, Quentin Tarantino. Because when I think about musical advice, I think Quentin Tarantino. It was a bit strange and slightly disappointing to have the new 2 judge team giving their critiques tonight. I hope this won't be the norm from here on out. It’s really doing a disservice to the playas. I mean Simon is usually always right so they need to hear what he’s got to say! My suggestion would be to cut all this video hoo-ha and just GET TO THE SINGING, MMMKAY? (Like that's going to happen.)

Allison Iraheta - First up is Allison who's trying to convince me that she "Don't Want To Miss A Thing" from Armageddon. Unfortunately, I think she missed a few things, namely some notes. I get the impression she wowed the live audience more than our dead audience sprawled on the couch here in Wisconsin.

Anoop Desai – Every Thing I Do I Do it for You ~ Ok, I cannot get over the schoolboy outfit he had on tonight. Oi. But sweet, sweet vocals, I loved the velvet sound of his performance. One of his best.

Adam Lambert - Born to be Wild ~ Were those patent leather chucks he had on?? And where can I get me some of them...in red? This performance was like a flipping rock concert! HOLYMOLY people. Awesome! He has long since left the league of amateurs my friends. Adam is the only contestant to consistently draw so much reaction from all directions.  VOTED like mad.

Matt Giraud - Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman ~ He looked great tonight, props to whoever finally fixed that boy's hair! Slick. There were some wicked sweet parts and some wicked parts of this performance. It was overall disappointing because I love this guy and his incredible potential. Still a fan.

*** Anyone else notice Simon making faces like he’s coughing up a hairball?

Danny Gokey – My Man Danny has lost his glasses. I'll assume it's intentional, that he has contacts or a corneal transplant. But he's singing seated on a stool. Now he's standing up. If he trips off the stage, then we'll know the answer to our glasses/contacts question. He does a GREAT job with Endless Love ~ ILOVETHISGUY. Wow! There were tears in my eyes by the time he finished. Simple, pure and touching performance. Classic. VOTED like mad.

Kris Allen - Falling Slowly ~ Never heard of this song in my life. Who cares? It was tender and sizzlin'....brilliant baby. Every week he raises the bar for himself. Well done.

Lil Rounds - The Rose ~ I LOVE this song. She looked really nice, but she mussed with it WAY too much. R & B, then Gospel. I'm just not sure what the deal is here. Just sing the song!

Ok, by far the best of the night...Danny and Adam.

So, if the ushers are going to come into theater with their flashlights and ask a few unwelcome movie-goers to leave, it'll be......Lil, Anoop and Matt.

Who should go?? Um, I gotta say Lil. Again.  Your thoughts?!
